To protect the interests of our customers, GEMCO has a standard practice that every report submitted to the customer includes a recommendation that any full scale remediation work should be undertaken by a professional mould remediation company following the S-520 IICRC Guidelines for mould remediation. GEMCO also educates the customer that any remediation company they contract should provide evidence that they carry and a Mould Remediator Insurance Policy.
In order to maintain its confidentiality policy, GEMCO will not provide any information in part or in whole pertaining to the inspection conducted. If a request is made to GEMCO to provide a report or a portion of a report to an independent third party, GEMCO will require authorization from the client prior to the forwarding of the document.
As part of GEMCO’s standard Terms and Condition the customer is informed that the inspection of the property is for the sole purpose of an indoor environmental assessment, indoor air quality assessment or a structural assessment. The inspection in confirmed as not a building code inspection, title examination, general inspection for problems other than those specifically detailed within the report, or by-law compliance inspection. GEMCO does not offer an opinion as to the advisability or inadvisability of the purchase or sale of the property, its value, or its potential use. The customer is also made aware that the report submitted by GEMCO has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted environmental study and/or engineering practices.
